Inspired by Karl Kenyatta´s wonderfull compilation "Dub Class 2", I dig for some of my favourite ambient dub vinyls. Please note: most of the records were very often played in the last almost 20 years, so sometimes there will be some background noises. But: Hey, it´s living vinyl!

Welcome to Switch Docta´s Dub Rock Cafe and enjoy 100% Streetlevel Dub! New Hurricane Protection

In Reggae terminology „Showcase“ is a style of arranging tracks on an album (songs followed by dubs). The “New Hurricane Protection” follows this idea by mixing vocal songs of three non-reggae albums (Massive Attack: Protection / 1994, Gil Scott Heron: I´m new here / 2010, Grace Jones:Hurricane / 2008) with the versions of their dub albums (Massive Attack v Mad Professor: No Protection / 1995, Gil Scott Heron & Jamie XX: We´re new here / 2011, Grace Jones and Ivor Guest: Hurricane Deluxe / 2011). African Head Charge - Head Room Extension pt.1 [1981-2011]

If one project stands for my motto „... and you will know us by a trail of drums” than African Head Charge is the one. From roots reggae tunes via african tribal drumming to polyrhtmic studio experiments you will find everything. In January 2004 I created a double Cd album for a few friends of mine with the extracts of my African Head Charge, Noah House of Dread (Bongo´s Roots band) and Institute of Dubology (members of AHC colaboration) collection (taken from 7 and 12 inch singles and albums on vinyl and cd, 1981 to 2003). Now is the time to update and re-edit this and fill it up with some fresh 2011 tracks. Stay tuned, pt.2 will follow. For a complete AHC discography and more information check www.skysaw.org.
